My
Cedars

2020
Allow me to introduce my new neighbors – two cedar trees. One hails from Lebanon, while the other’s origin remains a mystery. These trees are in their 70s, and as the saying goes, age often brings wisdom. I’ve affectionately named them “Tiki” and “Toka” – Tiki being the Lebanese female and Toka the foreign male. Throughout the year, Tiki and Toka bask in an abundance of sunlight, and during the winter, they’re gracefully covered in snow. Remarkably, they require no additional watering during the summer months, encouraging their roots to delve deep into the soil in search of moisture, allowing them to reach even greater heights.

Recently, I undertook the task of cleaning their shaded areas and collected the debris in a bucket, intending to transform it into nutrient-rich soil fertilizer. This endeavor is my humble contribution to returning these natural treasures back to the earth.
